Just showing you today what I use pre and post make up application. Since using these products my makeup has lasted longer, all day or all night, and I only have to do small touch ups after a long stretch of wear. I dont know what i’d do without them because together this combo has made my face fab! So:
I use Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot pre-foundation skin primer, i’ve been using it for a while now, i bought mine on eBay for around $30 (i try and find anything cheaper hehe) it retails for $55. It goes on smoothly and no oily residue. My primer is the older one (sorry the tube is a tad dirty but its where it lives hehe :P), same formula but different packaging, if you click the link you will see its a gold tube now. You dont go sloshing it all over you face you just put enough so it covers your face like a light moisturiser, thats probably why mine has lasted awhile ( but maybe also i dont wear makeup alll the time). Anyway, once its on then your set to start your make up routine :) It has vitamin E and chamomile extract in its formula to help soften your skin, hydrate and prepare for the wears of makeup as sometimes makeup can be harsh on your skin. As it says on the bottle ‘Not to Prime is a Crime!’ and I agree! There is so many primers out there but this is one i like, its pretty awesome.
So once everything is done I use a few sprays of Australis Make-up Finishing Spritz. This little secret was part of my November haul, i bought it from Kmart for $14.95. It has aloe vera and rose water in its formula which leaves your skin feeling refreshed so you can use it in between touch ups as the bottle says a ‘pick-me-up during the day’ it is similar to other hydrating sprays but this is one specialising in make-up wear. This stops your making up from wearing and it sprays on clear and dries real qiuick. Just some small advice, i had to try a few times to get it right, spraying to close will leave your face looking like you’ve been in the rain, so try and spray at arms length (dur! hehe); also, make sure all makeup is dry e.g. mascara. We all have that tendency to shut our eyes when something gets sprayed in our faces (unless its just me :P) so mascara smudging was happening to me hehe. There is also a few other spritz’s like this but i opted for the cheaper one and i haven’t been disappointed yet.
But yeah, thats it. There 2 simple steps that should be added to all make-up routines i think. As i said at the start this is an awesome combo put together, using them made my make-up look like it had been put on not long ago 5 hours later :D You dont put nailpolish on with out a base and top coat so why not make-up hey?!
Have a good night :)
